Another cRaZy-busy day!

Saturday was yet another busy day for us. After a late-night Wal-Mart run with Lori, we got up early Saturday morning and got ready for a trip to the zoo! My kids LoVe the Zoo! However, they didn't know we were going until later. I've learned not to tell them everything. They seem to get really excited about things, and if it falls through then they are terribly upset. SO, we packed our lunches and I packed their bags, had a few things in the car already. The first surprise was when Uncle Chris (aka Uncle Bubblegum) came knocking on the door. Chris, Hunter, David, Laura, Austin and Caroline rode in David's truck; Lori, Ella Grace, Major and I were together.

It was an easy trip down. When we got off of the interstate, Ella Grace started saying "Are we going to the zoo? It looks like we are going to the zoo." Lori and I played it off for a minute, got really serious with them and asked if they were sure they wanted to go to the zoo. Of course they said yes. When we told them they were right there were lots of giggles and cheers of excitement.

We got our things together and headed in. Just inside is a small area with fish (I call it a mote) and a piece of land in the center where there are birds. The kids were all looking in at the fish, and I decided I wanted to get a group picture of all the kids before they got hot and sweaty (and tired). They were all settling down and getting ready for the picture; then SPLASH! My little man went in with the fish! That poor thing! He was so distraught. I consoled him and took him to the bathroom to change his clothes. I asked "Major, how did that happen?" Just a pitiful as could be he answered through his tears "I was trying to sit down and that happened!" Bless his little heart! Not what you want to do on your birthday!

After looking at lots of animals (we did skip the lions, tigers, camels, birds and reptiles), we headed out for a picnic lunch. Once we ate and cleaned up our area, we changed the kiddos' clothes and headed back in for some fun in the water fountain!

Once they started wearing down we changed clothes and parted ways. My car load headed to Gran's for a visit. We love our Gran. She was so sweet and had some green grapes waiting on the kids. It didn't take long for the bowlful to disappear...or vanish is more like it!
Ella Grace & Major could barely keep their eyes open. This is the best I could do!

Major loves to snort these days. Here he is showing Gran want an elephant does (with a snort for sound effect!)

And one last birthday celebration before we went to bed!
Major was so tired he was asking to go to bed! And he told me once that I forgot to take him!
(He slept until 7:00 am Sunday morning - woo-hoo!)

So glad we got to spend some time with our family - LOTS of family - over the weekend!

I love it!!! So fun, I have gotten to where I have to quit telling my kids where we are going too, otherwise that is all I will hear about till it happens! Great pictures, the splash pad looks fun and refreshing!! Glad y'all had a great time!
