Funnies

My babies are growing so fast, and saying such sweet and funny things every day. Wednesday nights at church we hurry in and our first stop is at the potty. So, Major was going first and he had a lot of tee-tee! I said "Major, where did all that tee-tee come from?" Very casually he said "My penius."

You may really laugh at that, but that's what he calls "it". Each time I tried to call it something else he would just laught - pecker, wee-wee, whatever. So, penius I called it and penius it is. Speaking of parts...

Ella Grace really wanted to know what her's was called. I finally told her, and then she called it her "china". HA!!

Tonight when we made it home from church Major so did not want to get his jammies on. I told him to go take his clothes off, and that he did. He came dancing in Ella Grace's room stark naked singing "I'm naked, I'm naked!" That boy! Then Jeremy came in and tried to get him dressed for bed and he started crying saying he didn't "want to sleep in nothin'". Daddy finally talked him in to sleeping in his diaper and shorts (no shirt). Just before bed, Major was doin' some super lovin' on Daddy. Yes, I was jealous and started pouting. I asked him if I could have a hug, then, standing on the living room floor with his belly poking out and just wearing his shorts and diaper he said "I don't have no more." And shrugged his little arms. He acts like he's 12! I can't stand it!

Love my kids, but can't stand they are growing so fast!

At lunch today a co-worker asked when Ella Grace would start kindergarten. It may be strange, but I don't think about that. I don't want to know when she will start school, what year she will graduate, how old I will be when she graduates, and the same with Major. I just don't want to start thinking about years 'cause that would make them seem to pass too quickly. SO, I quickly tried to shush him, and he just laughed. (He's going to be a daddy in October.)

Sleep, where are you??

Friday night we had a family adventure in the backyard camping. It was a lot of fun (and post coming soon I hope), but I was so tired the next morning. After camping, Jeremy took off running 9 miles (really) while I got laundry started. I think I did like 3 loads before 7:30. Then, out we went.

Jeremy sprayed the yard and I began putting mulch on the flower beds around the front. Lots of mulch. Twelve.bags.of.mulch. (Jeremy was busy washing and waxing the car.) When we finally went in around 1:15 my shoulders were burnt. And finally after cooling off and resting, the backs of my legs were terribly soar. I don't think I am up to picking up bags of mulch.

For dinner we headed down to an FOP lodge for a crawfish boil. Yum. And before we headed in I thought and almost said "Hey, let's not sit with the chief and his wife this time." But I refrained. It seems like everytime we go to a banquet or event we sit with them, which is totally fine. But, sometimes, with two small children it gets sort of awkward. You know, when the kids aren't sitting still, or playing with their food, or looking under the table...and the list goes on.

So, we headed in, I put my bag down and Jeremy headed to the restroom with one of the kids. We talked a while and then went back to the table. Hmm. There's someone else's bag sitting there. I wonder who that belongs to? I don't recall it being there when we came in.

Guess who we sat with!?!?

Yep! Hey, Chief! Ha!

Anyway, Saturday night I was so restless. I thought I would sleep so hard. Sunday night, restless again! Monday morning I told Jeremy "I'm not sure where sleep was last night, but it was not in our room." Major was sitting at the table and heard me, and so sweet, he said "I just slept all night in my bed Momma. I didn't come in your room." Love him!

I worked hard on Monday and was out at a work dinner until about 8:45. I could NOT go to sleep again last night. I laid in bed and tossed and turned, got up and read, came back to bed! That is so aggravating!

It's going to be another late night out for me, and I am hoping when I get home I can go straight to sleep. Sleep, I need you!! :)

Mornings

Yesterday afternoon I traveled out of town (really more like to the other side of the state) to visit a high school. The program lasted a couple of hours, so I stayed at my grandmother's. This morning in all of the quietness (Gran's a sleeper!) I got up and ready all by myself. (strange, huh?) I didn't want to wake her, so me and my hair dryer went to the back of the house. While drying my hair I caught a glimpse out the window - it was a beautiful morning, dew still on the ground, sun coming up, ahh! I loved it! It made me think back to before Ella Grace and Major were born, or shortly after Ella Grace was here. I used to get up some mornings and eat my cereal on the porch before heading out the door for work. So much has changed since then - they no longer make my favorite cereal and I have two kids, and I hurry out the door now!

If I drank coffee, I would have to seriously consider adjusting my morning schedule to get up and enjoy some quiet time on the front porch swing. Until then, I'll just stay and bed and sleep all I can!
