Christmas 2010

It was definitely a great break - from work, from everything. I was so glad to have Jeremy home for a while. Our break started busy and ended busy...just a quick recap:

Thursday, December 23
I picked the kids up from school early and we went to zoo light safari. Pop and Nana met us there. Afterward, the kids and I met Grandmother and Granddaddy. We swapped cars and they took the kids to their house. I visited my friend Anna who is in the hospital with acute leukemia. I then went to Gran's, and took a short nap, while waiting on Jeremy's two-hour-delayed flight. I picked him up and we headed to his parents.

Friday, December 24 (Christmas Eve)
We had Christmas Eve breakfast at Jeremy's grandmother's house. We visited a while, then headed back home for our visit from Santa. On the way, we stopped and ate Mexican. The kids inhaled their food. Our elf left pajama's for the kids on the porch as he does each year. Major was convinced Pop left his (Pop calls him rascal and Major's pj's had a racoon with Rascal underneath). Santa got a little different snack from us - white chocoalte covered Ritz crackers and peanut butter, dipped pretzels, a few gummy worms and water...

Saturday, December 25 (Christmas)
Major climbed in bed with us. Ella Grace came a little later and requested to open presents. She "thought I saw that when" she was coming in to our room (referring to her bicycle). They rode their new bikes for a while, then we packed up and headed to Pop and Nana's. We picked Granny up on our way. Great lunch with my family. Major was so sweet and asked for us to sing Happy Birthday to Jesus before we ate. He has such a sweet, sweet heart that I love so much! We had a wet, snowy day!
Sunday, December 26
It snowed more! Major woke up with a nasty cough, afraid he was getting the croup again. We had some medicine called in for him. We mostly stayed in and played at Jeremy's parents.

Monday, December 27
The kids and I headed to Pop and Nana's. I took the car to have the oil changed, then Major and I headed back home to get his nebulizer. I was afraid to go on our trip without it. Ella Grace & Pop were at Gran's when Major & I got close. We stopped in, visited for a hot minute with my cousins and Gran and then took Jeremy back to his parents (he borrowed their car) and ate dinner. Back to Gran's we went, then, and stayed the night with her. My aunt Debbie, cousin Jason and his two kids (Jenna and Jacob) were there. Jeremy had to work...boo!
Tuesday, December 28
Jeremy worked again. After running a few quick errands (bank, Wal-Mart, gas), we headed to Florida...there will be an entire post about this tomorrow!! I know you can't wait!

Wednesday, December 29
In Florida...details tomorrow

Thursday, December 30
On the road returning from Florida. We stayed with my folks when we got back. I was so tired!

Friday, December 31 (New Year's Eve)
We had Christmas with Jeremy's family this day. We all enjoyed the beautiful weather, while the little and big kids played. Lots of yummy food and a good time visiting. Aunt Laura even brought cookies, icing and sprinkles for the kids to decorate cookies! We stayed at my folks again. Jeremy & I watched It's Complicated while we waited to ring in the new year! We didn't make it. We had to go to bed!
Saturday, January 1, 2011 (New Year's Day)
Can't believe it!
We headed back to Grandmother and Granddaddy's and watched the Bama game - Roll Tide! Then back to my parents to enjoy the rest of the afternoon/evening.

Sunday, January 2
I really just wanted to stay in bed ALL day Sunday. I didn't want to face the rest of the day. From dropping Jeremy off at the airport to having to come back home to a messy house, a full car to unpack and Christmas decorations to take down, I wasn't looking forward to any of it!

But, Monday is over, Tuesday is beginning and so far I have survived. I've even made it to the store! But, the house is still messy and I haven't unpacked my bag. It can wait, right? I did stop long enough Sunday to assist Ella Grace and Major in building a super swing set with Major's new Tinker Toys! Really, it rocked!
