Recap, recipe and rest

It was a really good week around here. Thursday we headed out to run a few errands. It is also my grocery store day, so we tried to do it all at once. It would have worked out really well except 1) the barber shop was closed for a funeral so I couldn't have Major's haircut and 2) the USPS seems to be really stingy with their tape and wouldn't let me use it, so I had to take my packages back home to tape up myself. And have a mentioned the chickens and roosters walking or strutting around this fine place? Well, we had an up-close view of one when we tried to go to the barber shop.

Friday we went out again to get the oil changed in the car. After having sat in a similar place with two kids once before, I decided to mix things up a bit. We packed a lunch, checked the car in and we had ourselves a little picka-nic! Yes, it was in a random place near businesses and such, and yes, we did get a few random looks, but as I told one passer-by who inquired "What else am I supposed to do with two kids while I have the oil changed?" He agreed this was a good idea!

And I made some of the best pork chops ever for dinner Friday. I found the recipe for Caesar Pork Chops and Pasta on this blog, and it was from Kraft. As she suggested I baked the pork chops instead of frying them and they were delicious!!

By Saturday it was time to get out and do something fun. After my morning run/the kids' morning bicycle ride, I showered and we ate and our friend Kelly came over, then we headed to the zoo! Ella Grace had been wearing her swim suit all morning, anyway, and I got Major changed in to his before we left. There is a little splash pad there, which the kids enjoyed tremendously. We saw many more animals than we did on our last trip two weeks ago, too.

This reminds me of Dino Dan.

And this morning is off to a wonderful start! I woke up this morning to Ella Grace, dressed and almost ready for church standing beside me. I think both of them LOVE Sunday mornings, partially because of the routine or being able to be in some sort of routine and partially because they are able to spend over two hours with other kids. Who can blame them? After our golf cart ride back to the car, I was able to snap a few pictures of them in their Sunday clothes.

Lunch has been eaten and they are playing away outside as I type.
~And this Florida weather is to die for right now! It is warm, okay HOT, and the breeze blowing feels great. I think I am ready for some homeade ice cream! Yum-o!! Maybe butterfinger!

And here are a couple of pictures I forgot to share from last weekend. I mean, who wouldn't love these kids!?

And hopefully, I will get a little rest over the next few days. Grandmother and Grandaddy are on their way right now and Tuesday I will be flying to Maryland again. Jeremy's graduation is Thursday and then he will be coming HOME!!
