A quick beach trip
I love Florida...well, I love being able to go to the beach so often and on a whim when we feel like it! Last Sunday (3/18) was one of those times. While Grandmother & Granddaddy were here visiting, we went to church, came home and changed and headed out for the beach. First, we stopped for ice cream then made our way to the beach. Even though we didn't have our suits on, didn't even bother taking toys or chairs, the kids just had the best time. That's what I love. The simplicity of it all. Enjoying the sand, who cares if its gets in your clothes or your legs are covered in sand. Yes, we had sand in Little Boy Blue's eyes, but it was the best time.
And can anyone look at that perfect color of blue in the background and believe there is no God? I don't think so!

I am in love with the color of my baby's hair! Just B-E-A-utiful!

My CrAzY-talkin' kids!
My kids have just been hilarious lately. I find myself laughing at the silliest things they have said. And lately, it has been quite often!
On 3/15, I fed the kids powdered doughnuts for breakfast. This was a BIG treat for breakfast. As I gave Major his, he said "I adore anything white!" I asked where he had heard that from and he said "Olivia."
Then, on the way to school he began singing "Welcome home, Dad!" Again, Olivia.
Jeremy left for Alaska Friday morning. He kissed the kids before he left (around 5:00 am) and Ella Grace came to my bed. She said "Mom, while we are going to sleep can I tell you something?" Sure, I said. Then she began "The sun is here and the moon is over here and the Earth is in the middle. The Earth, it spins around like this. While it is day in Florida over here, it is night in Australia. The Earth is also moving around the sun." Of course I asked where she learned this and much to my disbelief she answered "Music class. My teacher's son lives there in college."
Oh.
This morning I overheard Major ask Ella Grace if she wanted to play Mary and Joseph. This was definitely a first!

I love my babes!
I have noticed some things our kids do lately that I can't help but love!
I have always loved their feet! Whether singing a made-up song about them while they were small or holding them in the car during rides (because I can't reach back to hold their hands). I still like to kiss their toes!
Major is getting so big. He really looks like a little man to me now. I have noticed that his whining may be on the decline now! (yea!) He SO comes alive when Ella Grace isn't around, and he talks so much. For instance, yesterday afternoon he and I were playing with sidewalk chalk. I was trying to draw a fish and asked how it was drawn on an episode of Yo Gabba-Gabba (dislike!). He couldn't remember so I did the best I could. He said "Yeah, that's the spirit!" ha! ha!
I love how Ella Grace can be such a good helper. No matter if she is trying to help in the kitchen cooking or washing dishes or helping her brother clean up his room when she really doesn't have to, she is such a sweet girl!
Lately, Major has been sneaky and turned on a bathroom night light after I tuck him in bed. I guess he knows what he needs!
And I love how he repeats things. For example, if I tell Ella Grace something or give him directions I often notice his quietly repeating part of it to himself "going to the store..." or some partial phrase!
Ella Grace is going through some phases where she gets totally involved in something. It might be writing or coloring or looking at a book - I love that she is becoming more focused each day!
Sweet babies! Why do you have to grow up soo fast?!?

My crazy-talkin' kids...
Last night at supper Jeremy mentioned he had to throw away one of our tomatoes that had split. I told him I thought his dad said he was due to the heat (we had talked about this happening while they were here last week). Jeremy said it was actually his grandmother that said that.
Then, Major chimed in...it was something along the lines of:
I think, what happened, was a woodpecker got on it, and he slid his pecker through it.
And I start laughing here.
Jeremy said "Yeah, Major, it may have happened that way."
I told him "Major, I am not sure where you get your smarts from."
Then, Major told me "Momma, I'm a genius!"
Oh, boy!!

5*5*5*!
Yea for Friday!!
Jeremy will be home in just a bit! - Super-Yea!!!
Sending lots of special prayers and love up today for a sweet, sweet precious person in my life.
Oh, ha! After I posted my blog yesterday about water...note on the door was received stating our "precautionary boil measure" from 7/12 was rescinded and our water was safe! Lucky me! I can take a shower in my own bathroom today!
We are getting our "lanai" (aka: back porch) screened next week - sooo excited!!
And for #5 - funny story: I love my Major. Yesterday while we were in Joann's, a lady stopped me to ask a question about a baby carrier (she wanted to make one and wanted my opinion on fabric - please go ahead and laugh! I had just called my mother-in-law to double-check what kind of fabric I needed to line Ella Grace's curtains!). Anyway, something was said about Ella Grace and Major having a baby brother/sister ONE DAY (not anytime soon). I had just taken Major out of the shopping cart and still had him on my hip, and obviously he was paying close attention to the conversation) and he replied "You just never know!" ha! From a 3 year old little boy - You just never know! Hilarious!!
Happy Friday!!

My crazy-talkin' kids!
Monday the kids & I were traveling to/from the Y. We LOVE listening to Taylor Swift's song "Mean" so I had my iPhone going and we were all singing. Ella Grace suddenly said "Momma, I think they are talking about New York, because that is a big city."
My girl is smart.
Something I will always remember Major saying, which is said in the bathroom at the library earlier today, is when finished (Hey, sorry if this is too much!) "Momma, come wipe myself." Cracks me up everytime!
I love my babies. I cannot believe in just a few short weeks they will both be heading off to school. If I am not working, I can take them/pick them up at regular time each day and I'll still have time to play with them and do some fun things, like homework. Makes me sad our time is coming to an end so soon. I hope they always remember the fun things we did between moving to Florida and school starting - we have had a lot of adventures!
Who thinks the shuttle will launch as scheduled tomorrow?

Five for Friday
What a week. Just a quick recap:
- I don't like being sick. And I don't like my little ducklings being sick either. When all of us are sick at the same time, it's hard. And despite having medicine there's not much else you can do but put everything else aside and just love on 'em. And that's enough.
- We watched Ramona and Beezus Wednesday afternoon, as soon as it came out of the mailbox. It was great. I cried. Ella Grace fell asleep on me.
- My kids are funny. From me overhearing Ella Grace say "Major, am I cute? Am I fashionable?" to her telling him he doesn't "have to say 'all things'" and Major thinking him doing a "fine job" of cleaning his room will help him have "sweet dreams" sometimes I can't help but grin.
- We named our elf today - "Chuluota Toot-toot" (the first word is chew-lee-oat-uh, and Ella Grace would say "like a train says toot-toot
" for the second). Creative, huh? - What would I do without friends sometimes? Whether loaning me Polar Express or calling to check on us 'cause we missed church and bringing us dinner. I can't wait to find our new church in Florida and get settled!

So cRaZy!!
Ugh! That's about all I can muster up these days! I shouldn't complain. We got lots and lots of changes going on. I stay up late looking for stuff and stay busy all day at work. Evenings are crazy, weekends we're traveling. But, whatever. We'll get through it soon! Woo-hoo!
Just a couple of quick things I wanted to share, mainly funny things the kids have said:
Major on September 10 -
I was drinking a coke before I went to bed (healthy, right?) and he wanted a drink. I did not give him one, but tried to explain (yes, I said explain, to a three year old) that it had caffeine and he didn't need that before bed time (or ever!). So, I put my cup/can whatever it was in the garbage. The garbage did need to be taken out so it was right on top. I started talking to my sister who was across the room, and look down just to see and hear Major stick his nose in it, take a deep breath in and say in a whispery voice "Caffeine!". HA!
That night, we started off with him sleeping with me. I love wrapping my arms around my babies and had one hand on his back. He looked over at me and said "Please keep your hand to yourself because that's what my teacher said to keep your hands to yourself." oops!
Ella Grace September 17 -
Traveling with Ella Grace, Major and Jeremy's parents we were looking for somewhere to eat lunch. I had the GPS and was looking through the Points of Interest. Zaxby's, Cracker Barrel and Longhorn were the three closest. Then something else pops up: El Cheapo. I said that outloud and told them I wasn't sure I wanted to eat there. Then Ella Grace pipes up: "Can we go somewhere where you put your chip in hot dip?" Um, I think she wants Mexican, 'y'all! (We found out later that El Cheapo is a service station. Glad I didn't hold out for that one!)
Ella Grace - September 25
We were at Aunt Lori's and listening to one of our Cedarmont kids worship cds. We were listening to Every Move I Make. My kids LOVE that song! Sweet Ella Grace said "Momma, why do they said 'There is no god like Jehovah?' Did he do what God did?" Warm a momma's heart! She SO pays attention!
We just got our internet back, so I hope to catch up on some posts. Please, bear with me!Ella Grace - September 25
