Movies, again!

Two days of the movies in a row! Whew! If I could afford the popcorn at the movies, I might have some sort of butter high by now. But, since it is completely out of my budget, we don't have to worry about that.

Tuesday we went to the movies with the wife of one of Jeremy's co-worker's (does that make sense?) and her two kids, Brayden and Keelie (we actually know two Keelie's now!). We saw Shrek Forever After with them.

Yesterday, we were back for a second movie. We saw Muppets Take Manhattan. Ella Grace's friend Amy met us there and went with us, while Amy's sister Hannah went to the other movie showing with her mom. Amy was excited to have some independence, her mom said. I know my Ella Grace was super excited to have a friend do something with her!

Major was restless, but the girls were good. I think we will be sitting next week out!

Endeavour

Today was a very special day. The kids & I got up early and drove out to Cape Canaveral to watch Endeavour's last trip to space. As we got out of the car at Jetty Park, Major said "I'm so excited!" Truth be told, I was too!

Here is a short recap of our day through my Facebook posts. Anything in italics is extra.

Beautiful sunrise on our drive to the beach. Praying for a successful launch & God's hand of protection on the astronauts aboard Endeavour!

We found our "spot" after parking and were able to remain there while we waited for the launch. Ella Grace and Major enjoyed being so close to the water.

The American flag, a NASA flag and Florida flying in the wind.

I was almost afraid the Love Bugs were going to ruin it for the shuttle and for the spectators. They were awful! You can barely see from this picture, but they are covering this van.
Trying to shield themselves from the bugs.
It was like this everywhere you looked. Gross!
The opening act: a sea turtle & dolphins!

The countdown begins!!!

Amazing, absolutely amazing!!
  • My hands were shaking as I tried to steady my camera, tears, very emotional experience! I am so thankful Ella Grace & Major were able to experience it!

And this is what Ella Grace caught on my phone - and iPhone and a 5 year old...

Hanging around afterwards at the playground waiting on the traffic to dissipate.
~I almost forgot. You can check Ella Grace & me out in picture 5 and Major & I in picture 17 here.

The drive home was quick. We headed to the movies to watch Rio in 3D afterwards. Darn glasses gave me a headache!

Praying for Endeavour tonight!
