Some weeks just seem like a whirlwind - whether you are busy at home or traveling, they just go by way too fast! My Dad met me Thursday evening to get the kiddos. They spent Thursday night with their Pop and Nana. Jeremy & I then went up Friday evening, got the kids from my mom and dad's and headed over to Jeremy's parents. We spent Friday night and Saturday night with them. I made a cake (late) Friday night to take with us the next day to a family reunion.
Saturday morning we planned to take Major to get a haircut, but storms were headed our way so we decided just to hang out inside. We left around 10:00 to get to the site of the reunion to set up tables and chairs, etc. The power was out when we arrived. But luckily (maybe for us?) the rescue team was called out to cut a tree out of the road, when the guys responding returned they were able to turn a generator on for us. Then they showed the kids the fire truck. Jeremy sat up in it with them, they turned on the lights, started the engine and got to look around. Major said when he gets big he is going to drive a fire truck.
After naps, watching the storms come, go and new ones develop, sitting in hallway, we finally called it a night and went to bed. We came home Sunday to do "home" work - Jeremy finished pressure washing the driveway and began cleaning the house. I mopped the floors and did LOTS of laundry. We spent the evening at church at a Farewell Reception for our minister of music. Jeremy & I are on the Kitchen and Hospitality Committee, so we stayed late(r) to help clean up and put things away. Long night for the kids = hard morning!
Major has a new saying. It is quite funny, and caught us off guard. When he is not getting what he wants or is bummed he says "Tartar sauce!" Ha! Ha! I asked him why he says it and he replied "Chase says 'tartar sauce' to me at school!" So funny!
Ella Grace left Jeremy a message week before last. She said "Daddy, I tied my shoe today. This is Ella Grace. At school. I love you! 5432. bye!" She then asked me if I knew why she said all of those numbers. (Of course I didn't know!) She said "Daddy told me to leave a number." Right, she is!
Enjoy your Monday everyone! Lookin' kinda dreary outside here.
